Kiki is a clutz and Patches is a genius. There's another page with Kiki accidently killing things but alas... she means well.
This page nearly killed me. It took ages to find the perfect color scheme.

Sadly next week on Friday I'll be in Hamburg (well, not so sad about actually since it's not only for work) which means you'll get your weekly dose on either Thursday or Sunday. Depends on the last-minute-omg-stuff-needs-to-be-done level. I hope the worst part will be over on Tuesday.

Wanna win something? Mini-raffle still going on till today's midnight:…

 Your comments and favs will keep Kiki happy and the pages getting uploaded every Friday

Awww...that's so cute!  I love the soft warm colours you  use.  It makes the whole scene much more inviting.  I also like how you gave the firefly in panel 3 an extra glow so we can tell which one Patches is chasing. Nicely done.

Thanks a lot- it means a lot to me. I think this is one of the pages I'd always pic when asked which one is my favourite. Maybe because I needed a lot of time to find a color mood I was 100%ly satisfied with.

I'm not always patient with my art and it encourages me to hear you spent so much time finding the right colour to suit the mood. It's a beautiful balance between peaceful, vibrant, and heartwarming. Colour really does affect our mood.

I think patience is one of the basic skills I had to aquire over the last couple of years and I embraced it. Otherwise there'd probably be no learning curve at all if you give up before you get to the point where the knot in your head and hands detangles and everything finally does work the way it should.

I know a lot people want things to work NOW but to be honest mostly it doesn't. I spend a lot of hours on corrections when something is still in the prototype phase. The clean up is always easy but getting to the point where everything comes together is something I don't expect to happen asap.
It's like working with a slow cooker: Takes ages but tastes wonderful.

If I'd give you one advice: Learn patience. It's a bit like meditation and if you have the skill of being only lightly frustrated with something but you know you CAN wait for some more hours for the magic to happen it's great. Normally it transfers to the rest of your life as well and comes in handy in a lot of situations.
I'm not saying that it's helpful to *always* sit back and wait (mentally) but it puts a bit of objective distance between you and the rest and that IS helpful for longterm goals.
