I already found some tutorials for inking in Flash but most seem to use the pen. I prefer the paintbrush since it's much more lively and ink-like.
It's a bunch of full screen screenshots with explanation boxes. I tested it with somebody who has no idea about drawing at all and he understood everything which raises my hopes it's not that useless. o_o

If somebody still has a question here and there let me know.

For those who think: done, now what?
--> Export image (don't forget to delete your sketch layer) as whatever you want it. I prefer EPS.

I think that's all. :)

So this is another way of inking,
I mean, I never thought it could work, not to color on flash, right? Because you're already using a fill.... So I guess you use photoshop to color.(well, it's kinda obvious since your master-pieces are always color and cheerful and flash surely can't do that)

so, this inking for me is pretty interesting, i mean i think i'm the only human being in the whole world who can't simply stand the 'amazing' Pen Tool. Idk i simply can't. It's for me a sin, a punishment, work with a pen tool. I think that since i have a tablet, it should be easier, smoother... like using a pen... but when i use Pen tool, it's not what happens.

Althought I see every inking outline with pen tool gets amazing, I gotta learn how to deal with it. But I like this ink on flash. I still gotta learn it, cause sometime it's too thick or too thin, too far from the other, its not so continuous, sometimes it fades, it's probably me.

Anyway, thanks for your tutorial, I used to 'ink' on fash with lines, and pencil. It's straight, easy to curve, but no quite artistic.

Thanks!

I hate the pen. Brush tool rules. I think the coloring could be a combination of Flash and something else, not necessarily Photoshop. I actually find that Gimp is pretty good for coloring and color-swapping, better than Photoshop. You just have to take the time to set it up properly and learn how to use it.

I have to agree with what you said, the brush tool seems like a lively tool to use~ But there's something that I have to disagree, you can still accomplish inking it without a tablet~ C:

Of course, to each and everyone's style. ^__^

But I'm wondering which Flash version is better? (If that is alright to ask; you can disregard this question if you like c: ) Flash MX 2004? Flash 8? Or the latest one?

Macromedia Flash 5 was my favorite of them all, but I think Flash CS3 is pretty nice, and CS5 is basically the same features as CS3, just a slightly different interface. If you get Flash just to draw/ink in it, Flash 5 is the way to go. Flash 5 works perfectly in Ubuntu, too. :)

This isn't a live chat room, so the date something was posted has very little significance to the conversation.

everything under CS2 seems okay. After it Adobe made it quite impossible to directly export EPS. You have to save an Illustrator format, go there and save it again. I have no idea why they did it but it sucks a lot.

It seems like the latest have gone down...?

I'm actually using Photoshop CS2 and Flash MX 2004. So yeah...I was wondering if I could upgrade it....IF the latest version is worthy enough~

But thanks for answering question, Madam! <3
